Lead Attorneys, CEO's, Business Owners, Solopreneurs, Professionals, and Individuals reach out to us
Our proprietary vision board process helps you work on your business instead of in your business.
MIND DUMP participants who benefit the most have the courage to open up and share their self-doubts, powerful personal emotions, and insightful experiences. At the moment this happens, an absolute phenomenon begins to take place.
To get the most out of MIND DUMP requires enormous personal security, openness, and a spirit of adventure.
Your life experiences have determined how and why you view the world the way you do. This directly correlates to what business decisions you make. Sometimes your “why” can become convoluted as life evolves. We want to get to know you; which in turn, will help us understand the best way to position your company for success.
It’s incredibly important to have a clear picture of your foundation. That’s why we start with your “why” before we get into your “how”.
Whether your business is in dire straits or on the edge of a breakthrough we explore the thinking that got you to where you are today. Many people who come to us have been seeking solutions to their symptoms, not the actual problem.
If something is free you are the product. You receive information you didn’t solicit. You get never-ending email notifications, instantaneous communication, access to endless conflicting information.
Sitting in the magic chair is like a passive victim of whatever information, entertainment, or total nonsense the television world is sending forth. It doesn’t take planning, it doesn’t take goal setting, it doesn’t take grabbing control of personal time. It doesn’t take anything.
You have a reactive orientation toward the world. A reactive orientation is tragically inadequate when it becomes your worldview
We create a safe environment of mutual trust for open and thoughtful communication. Your childhood, education, experiences, friends, and background are unique to you.
After we have determined your “why” we are ready to move on to your “how” to complete your transition to becoming a proactive powerful leader.
During your “how” transition you'll slowly discover a fundamental truth: You can't do everything. And if you try, you won't do anything well.
We find about 30 percent of what you are currently doing is outstanding. About 70 percent needs to be improved, discarded, done differently, or by other people.
MIND DUMP is a diagnostic exercise. We help you stand apart from your own mind and examine it. We stop your negative tendencies, habits, and destructive patterns of the past. You transcend your background, history, and psychic baggage. We help you craft positive habits and tendencies.
It is up to you how you move forward. We are more than happy and capable to empower you and move your company into the future. But first, we want to get to know you!
No amount of management success can compensate for leadership failure. The best investment you can make in your business is in yourself
First, you visualized what your business would look like. Then focused on the physical part. Most business failures begin in the second creation
Failure is caused by being undercapitalized, not understanding the market or not having an effective plan or strategy
If you aren't authentic your firm or business will be the result of someone else's vision or ideas
Leadership is top-line focused
Management is bottom-line focused
You don't know what the terrain ahead will look like or what you will need to get through it. We help you get through the terrain by fine-tuning your judgment and inner compass
If you want to be heard...listen. It's hard to listen when you know you are right
Contrary to popular belief, small business is not a culture. Why you think about things a certain way determines your company culture
Without the building blocks of business in place processes and systems don't work
Your business is unique to you even if you are in the same business as someone else. Boilerplate solutions don't work
If you don't have the right capabilities within your organization, it doesn't really matter what your strategies are
Leadership - Focuses on making sure the ladder is leaning against the right wall
Management - Focuses on the efficiency of climbing the ladder

Upon completion of your MIND DUMP, you receive a 15 to the 50-page detailed report
We outline your;
Our recommendations are a road map to help you achieve your stated goals.
1) You can implement our recommendations on your own
2) We can implement them together
3) We can implement them for you
4) You can do nothing
How often have you attended conferences, got great information and reams of great documents in a binder or data file? Returned to your familiar work environment, put it on a shelf, and never looked at it again?. One crisis after another and it becomes a distant memory. The great ideas never get implemented. MIND DUMP tracking meetings keep you focused and on track.
Most of our clients have never been a CEO before. They filled out their incorporation documents that require someone to be the CEO so they appoint themselves. At some point, their skill set is exhausted. MIND DUMP one on one's help leaders communicate better to increase productivity and efficiency.
You have a great team. Terrific systems but they are out of sync.
MIND DUMP aligns team members and systems so they arrive at the targeted outcomes at the same time.
If you hired someone from India, China, Iran, and Russia, how would they communicate?
When they do communicate what means something to one means something different to the other. MIND DUMP helps you identify your culture and hire people with personalities who match.
If you have people, you've got conflict. We often hear business owners concerned about how a person is creating the conflict. We start to analyze the source of conflict by first learning what systems are in place that the conflict is related to. 99% of the problems business owners tell us they think is caused by a person or people is in reality a systems problem. Our MIND DUMP identifies points of conflict and creates systems to eliminate them in a matter of hours
Quarterly initiatives refocus and refresh your team efforts. MIND DUMP quarterly initiatives keep everyone aligned toward the same targeted outcome.
MIND DUMP financials are written in a language you can easily understand with pictures and graphs illustrating how your business is doing. MIND DUMP financial reports are visual so you can "see" how to improve your business
Every fall we begin planning with our clients for the year ahead.
It all begins with a MIND DUMP of what worked and didn't work from the current year.
Fixing or discarding the things that didn't work. Improving and modifying the things that did work. Learning from those experiences and factoring in new initiatives for the coming year.
Business plans are the most overlooked and the most important document in your arsenal. It determines what your company will be worth in the future and maps out how to get there. One of the first questions we ask after you tell us what your goals are; "What's your plan?"
If you have one, we ask to see it. If you don't we ask; "why not?"
More often than not the responses we get are;
How do you know if you have arrived at your destination if you don't know where you are going? If you don't know where you are going it doesn't matter how you get there.
Effective plans are living documents, they are the baseline you compare your results to on a weekly or monthly timeline. They are modified or adjusted as circumstances change. A professionally written plan does not sit on a shelf. MIND DUMP planning sessions establish clear goals, timelines to achieve them, and who will be accountable for the results.
If you haven't ever had your financials analyzed you need to. If it's been a while you need to have them updated. If you don't know your numbers your decisions are wrong. Wrong decisions could result in your business failing. MIND DUMP comprehensive executive financial report gives you accurate numbers you can count on to make the right decisions.
A few years ago, a high profile extremely successful attorney who established an impeccable reputation over a period of 45 years asked MIND DUMP to help him sell his practice. We were stunned to learn buyers were only interested in paying him a portion of his annual fees. Paying the highly respected attorney a part of the annual fees is not horrible. It is worse than horrible.
Did he invest 45 years of his life, building an incredible reputation for a portion of the annual fees? Don't let this happen to you or you.
WHY?
To understand why his firm was not worth more, we analyzed the legal space and how law firms have evolved since 1892. To our surprise, they haven't changed much. We were astonished to learn they are still relying on obsolete and archaic systems.
Can an exceptional attorney build a successful practice?
To be an exceptional attorney who excels at law requires an introvert who prefers data analysis as evidence to support winning a conversation. An attorney who possesses a win/lose mentality is often not interested in understanding the person they are speaking to. They have a dictatorial combative communication style. They are considered brilliant as an attorney but abysmal as a motivational leader no one wants to follow.
To build an outstanding practice and a successful team requires an extrovert who patiently listens, seeks to understand with empathy before being understood. They want to persuade the person they are speaking with to their point of view.
To be a proactive, influential leader of a small law firm, you must have a win/win mentality and an open, empathetic communication style for your team to succeed.
Having to alternate between opposite communication styles at a moment's notice is incredibly difficult and immensely stressful. Switching back and forth between two different characters from moment to moment is one of an attorney's biggest challenges. Alternating quickly from presenting evidence to win an argument to listening to understand is overwhelming.
How does an attorney build enough value the firm is worth a significant amouint of money?
Imagine a buyer wanting to buy Amazon based on the personality of the founder. Can you imagine buying an i phone from Apple because you know the owner?
As ludicrous as these two scenarios sound, it is what small law firms do.
Attorneys who are ready to sell their small firm often seek buyers who have personalities similar to theirs to encourage clients to stay with the firm when the buying attorney takes over. Another option is to have an existing partner absorb the departing attorney's clients.
Either way, these solutions do not get more than a portion of the fees for the selling attorney. To an attorney, this sounds normal. In business, this a formula for failure.
How does a 28-year-old recent graduate who passed the bar with family money acquire a firm and match the personality of a 65-year-old attorney who has a vast network?
The solution?
Why not have a successful practice that does not rely on the personality and connections of the founder?
A plug-and-play law practice with the latest in technology, systems and processes.
A firm with a proactive, powerful leader is a magnet for high-functioning lawyers and maintains a high retention rate.
Imagine building a successful firm based on forward-thinking proven business fundamentals that are easy to understand, run by a proactive, decisive leader with an impeccable reputation who attracts and retains preeminent lawyers.
- no knowledge of an industry or profession
- knows what industry or profession is
Makes mistakes until they get it right- getting familiar with a profession
Makes the same mistake twice - working under a Journeyman
- transitioning to journeyman
Makes the same mistake once - can work without supervision
- no supervision
- work until they never make a mistake
- work until they can’t get it wrong

The leader's voyage of development is not an easy one. Those who are willing to develop themselves will evolve into transformational leaders.
Leaders reach out to a mentor when intrinsic motivation supersedes extrinsic values.
Moving away from external validation of personal achievement is not easy. Understanding where you find happiness helps you avoid getting caught up in materialism. Proactive Powerful Leaders know they need to address more complex questions to pursue significant success.
Their mentor is the one person in a leader's life with whom they can be completely themselves, warts and all, and still be accepted unconditionally. Their mentor often is the only person who can tell them the honest truth. When leaders can rely on unconditional support, they are more likely to accept themselves for who they really are.
Many leaders have had a mentor who changed their lives. Interactions with their mentor spark mutual learning, exploration of similar values, and shared enjoyment. The two-way nature of the connection sustains the relationship. Leaders can say what they believe without fear of judgment, criticism, or reprisal.
Companies are created twice. The first creation is the vision. The second creation is the physical part. External values drive the first creation. money, prestige, recognition, material things, success, praise, being valued, meeting social, peer, and parental expectations.
When the external values no longer are fulfilling leaders seek to understand their internal motivation for a more meaningful reason for being.
Alice Woodward of Mckinsey reflected, "If you are just chasing the rabbit around the course, you are not running toward anything meaningful."
Most leaders realize they need to answer more difficult questions to pursue meaningful success. They ask themselves, "What is my legacy?" They seek to understand their internal reasons for being. Helping others develop, making a difference in people's lives, social causes, making a difference in the world.

MIND DUMP is a proprietary rapid prototyping whiteboarding process founded in 2000.
A vision board process that helps you get out of your head and clearly understand your business issues.
Designed to make sure you hit targeted outcomes in an accelerated time frame.
MIND DUMP helps you develop an accurate map of where want to go, without it, no amount of effort or attitude will get you there.
As a child, James dreamed of being the most successful CEO in the world. He was seeking external validation. His perspective changed during a semester abroad as part of World Campus Afloat through Chapman College. After spending time with tribespeople who had next to nothing, including no education or electricity, but were very happy, he realized having money has little to do with happiness and success.
Following college, James worked as a turnaround expert and troubleshooter in retail and distribution for twelve years. Turnaround is not a politically correct environment. He either fixed them or shut them down. He was their last chance to succeed.
He owned a furniture manufacturing company that he built from scratch into a globally recognized brand for the next eight years. His company manufactured custom furniture sold through design centers for large homes and hotel lobbies.
James Mexican partner pulled a gun from under his desk and pointed it at him. He told him he no longer owned the business and ushered him out of the building.
This was a seminal moment. In those milliseconds looking into the business end of a gun, James became crystal clear on the difference between external values and internal motivation. This moment in time launched his passion to prevent any entrepreneur from getting into the same predicament.
That's when he developed the rapid prototyping proprietary process he calls "MIND DUMP."
You've got one life to live, make it count when you can!
He gained in-depth knowledge and strategic financial expertise over the next nine years as a securities licensed investment advisor.
The Chairman of a struggling high-end furniture manufacture firm recruited James to revitalize the infrastructure. After a successful turnaround in just two years, James served as a Regional Director for national management consulting companies out of Chicago and Dallas.
MIND DUMP was launched in 2000.
